# Android App

> Get started with Rapid Reader on Android

Rapid Reader for Android brings speed reading to your phone or tablet with touch-friendly controls and seamless share integration.

  <Step title="Install from Play Store">
    Download [Rapid Reader](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.rapidreader) from the Google Play Store. The app works on phones and tablets running Android 8.0 or later.

  <Step title="Add Content">
    Tap the **+** button to add content:

    * **Paste text** from your clipboard
    * **Open a file** (PDF or EPUB from your device)
    * **Import from URL** (articles and web pages)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start Reading">
    Tap the **Play** button to begin. Words appear one at a time with the optimal recognition point highlighted in red.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Control Playback">
    * **Tap center** - Play/Pause
    * **Swipe up/down** - Adjust speed
    * **Swipe left/right** - Skip backward/forward
    * **Tap progress bar** - Jump to any position

  **Share to Rapid Reader** - Use Android's share menu to send content directly to the app. In Chrome or any app, tap **Share** and select Rapid Reader to instantly add articles, text, or links to your library.
