# Firefox Extension

> Speed read any web page with the Rapid Reader Firefox add-on

The Firefox add-on lets you instantly speed read selected text or entire web pages without leaving your browser.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the Add-on">
    Install Rapid Reader from the [Firefox Add-ons Store](https://addons.mozilla.org). Click **Add to Firefox** and confirm when prompted.

  <Step title="Select and Read">
    On any web page, highlight the text you want to read and press:

    * **Cmd+Shift+R** (Mac) or **Ctrl+Shift+R** (Windows/Linux) to read selected text
    * **Cmd+Shift+E** (Mac) or **Ctrl+Shift+E** (Windows/Linux) to read the entire page

    Alternatively, right-click your selection and choose **Read with Rapid Reader** from the context menu.

  <Step title="Start Reading">
    A popup window opens with your content loaded. Press **Space** to begin reading. Use arrow keys to adjust speed and navigate through the text.

<Warning>
  **Restricted pages**: The extension cannot run on certain pages including Firefox settings, the Add-ons Store, and internal browser pages. Use the web app for content from these sources.
